Históricamente el sistema de la ciencia y la tecnología en España no ha facilitado el acercamiento entre la universidad, los centros públicos de investigación y las empresas. La verdadera transferencia de tecnología empieza por buscar puntos de encuentro, e insistir desde el principio en eliminar de raíz estereotipos tan arraigados, como el que la gente de las empresas tiene de que los investigadores sólo investigan en peces de colores y el que los investigadores tienen de la gente de las empresas de que sólo quieren ganar dinero. Estos dos prejuicios hay que borrarlos del mapa, es la única manera de hacer interacciones beneficiosas para todos. :El motor de la innovación son las ideas. Las ideas empiezan al reconocer y comprender que existe un vacío en algún lugar. Esta nueva mirada a la investigación tiene dos componentes: uno técnico, en cuanto al uso financiero y explotación económica "per se", y otro puramente axiológico. :En definitiva, los empresarios y los investigadores tienen algo esencial en común: los dos colectivos permanentemente tienen que gestionar la incertidumbre.
