El presente trabajo estudia la cortesía negativa en la entrevista inves-tigativa. Particularmente, se analizan las estrategias empleadas por el investi-gador para reparar el daño causado a la imagen del interlocutor durante larealización de las entrevistas infantiles. Las preguntas planteadas en este trabajoson: i) ¿Qué estrategias utiliza el entrevistador para mantener la imagen de suinterlocutor?; ii) ¿El entrevistador crea un ambiente (o contexto) amistosofavorablepara la realización de la entrevista?; iii) ¿El entrevistador aplica lasmismas estrategias en los hablantes cooperativos y en los hablantes no coopera-tivos (que ofrecen resistencia)? y iv) ¿Hasta qué punto el entrevistador cedeespacio de su territorio para propiciar las condiciones óptimas de la entrevista?La muestra está conformada por dos grabaciones de hablantes infantiles caraque-ños, de igual nivel socioeconómico (medio alto) y edad (7 años), de diferentessexos, cursantes del primer grado de un colegio privado (la muestra pertenece alcorpus recogido por Shiro:1997 del IFAB). Los resultados demuestran que elentrevistador se esfuerza en utilizar estrategias como la negociación y la conce-sión para mantener la cortesía negativa en el caso del hablante no cooperativo.

This paper studies the negative politeness in research interviews. Specifically, politeness strategies that repair damage caused to the speaker´s ´face´ are analyzed in adult-child interviews. The research questions are: i) What face maintaining strategies does the interviewer use?; ii) Does the interviewer create a friendly atmosphere (or context) favorable for the realization of the interview?; iii) does the interviewer apply the same strategies with cooperative speakers and with those who do not cooperate (those who offer resistance)?; and iv) to what extent does the interviewer yield her territory to ensure the good conditions of the interview? The sample consists of two recordings of adult-child interviews. Both children, one male and one female, are native Spanish speakers from Caracas; they are the same age (7 years old) and belong to the same socioeconomic level (upper middle class). They both study first grade in a private school (the sample belongs to the corpus collected by Shiro 2000). The results show that the interviewer makes an effort in using strategies like negotiation and concession in order to maintain negative politeness with non-cooperative interviewees.
