NORMAS EDITORIALES
ACTA ZOOLOGICA MEXICANA nueva serie es una revista cuatrimestral. Acepta trabajos sobre
la fauna terrestre en las áreas de Comportamiento, Ecología, Evolución,
Fisiología, Genética, Morfología, Sistemática y Zoogeografía. Los idiomas
empleados pueden ser español, inglés, francés y portugués. Cada manuscrito
presentado a esta revista, es sometido a la evaluación de dos científicos
especialistas en el tema y la decisión final de aceptación es responsabilidad
del propio Comité Editorial. El orden de publicación atenderá
a
las fechas de recepción y aceptación de cada trabajo.
No
se aceptarán trabajos presentados por separado como pequeñas contribuciones o
notas numeradas, que puedan integrarse como unidad. A criterio del Comité
Editorial y basados en las opiniones de los revisores, un manuscrito puede ser
modificado para su publicación como nota científica. Los trabajos taxonómicos
de revisión o monográficos tendrán prioridad, sobre aquellos meramente descriptivos
de taxa aislados, y se presentarán de acuerdo a la última edición del Código
Internacional de Nomenclatura Zoológica. Todo manuscrito rechazado para su
publicación no será aceptado posteriormente.
INSTRUCCIONES A LOS AUTORES
TRABAJOS CIENTÍFICOS. Los manuscritos deberán enviarse en tres copias, escritos
en hojas tamaño carta, numeradas consecutivamente, con márgenes de 3 cm por
lado y a doble espacio, justificación completa y en letra tipo "Times New
Roman" 12 pt o similar. No usar negritas. Sólo los nombres científicos, el
nombre abreviado de revistas y el nombre de libros irán en Cursivas. El
texto se presentará escrito en altas y bajas, excepto los títulos de capítulo
que irán en mayúsculas. Después del TÍTULO, incluir el nombre del(los) autor(es), Institución,
dirección y correo electrónico. El texto será ordenado en RESUMEN y ABSTRACT
con
palabras clave y Keywords, INTRODUCCIÓN, MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS, RESULTADOS
DISCUSIÓN, AGRADECIMIENTOS Y LITERATURA CITADA. El resumen tendrá una
extensión proporcional a la del trabajo, sin exceder de dos cuartillas. Los
manuscritos redactados en inglés, francés y portugués, deberán incluir un
amplio resumen en español. La literatura citada será referida en orden
alfabético. Las ilustraciones (mapas, gráficas, esquemas y fotografías), se
presentarán como Figuras, al final del texto, indicando su número consecutivo;
sus pies de figura se enlistarán por separado incluyendo las definiciones de
claves y/o
abreviaciones
y las escalas correspondientes. Los Cuadros deberán presentarse por separado al
final del texto, irán sin recuadros, numerados en forma consecutiva según
aparezcan citados y con encabezado explicativo, claro y conciso. Evitar en lo
posible Figuras y Cuadros apaisados (horizontales).
NOTAS CIENTÍFICAS. Se aceptarán en extensión máxima de 4 cuartillas. Deberán
enviarse tres copias escritas a doble espacio. Deberán contener el TITULO, seguido de un ABSTRACT conciso si está redactada
en español y un RESUMEN
en español si
está escrita en otros idiomas. La literatura se citará en el propio texto en
forma breve (ej: Klemperer 1980. Environ. Entomol. 5: 143-151; Gill
1991. In: Dung Beetles Ecology: 211-229). Al final de la nota se
indicará el nombre del autor y su dirección.
Sólo
los manuscritos aceptados para publicación se enviarán en diskette o CD
en procesador WORDPERFECT, o WORD o formato *.RTF, sin virus, anexando una
copia impresa completa y las figuras originales debidamente protegidas cada una
con título del trabajo y nombre de los autores, y/ o la versión en *JPG. No hay
cargos por derecho de página para los autores y recibirán 100 sobretiros del
artículo publicado sin costo alguno.

GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
ACTA ZOOLOGICA MEXICANA, nueva serie
is published three times a year. Accepts articles
dealing with terrestrial fauna in the fields of Behavior, Ecology, Evolution,
Physiology, Genetics, Morphology, Systematic and Zoogeography. Languages such
as Spanish, English, French or Portuguese can be used. Two scientific referees
specialists on the article subject review each manuscript submitted to this
journal. The decision regarding the final acceptance of the article is the
responsibility of the Editorial Committee. Dates of reception and acceptance of
the article determine the order of publication.
Articles presented as several small
contributions or serial numbered notes that can be published as one substantial
paper, will not be accepted. Based on the Editorial Committee criterion and the
referee’s opinion, a manuscript might be modified for publication as a Scientific
Note (see below). Taxonomic reviews and monographs will have priority over
merely descriptive works of isolated taxa, are must be presented according the
most recent edition of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. All
manuscripts once rejected for publication in AZM will not be reconsidered.
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
SCIENTIFIC PAPERS. Three copies of the manuscript should be submitted on white letter-sized
paper, all pages numbered with 3.0 cm margins at four sides. Text should be
double-spaced, with complete justification and 12 pt Time New Roman type (or a
similar font). Bond is not allowed. Only scientific names, names of journals
and book titles should be in italics, the rest of the text should be in
normal typescript with upper- and lower case letters with exception of the
section titles that should be in CAPITAL letters. After the TITLE include the name(s) of the
author(s), institutional correspondence addresses and e-mail for each author.
The text should be organized as follows: RESUMEN
(in Spanish) and ABSTRACT
(in English) with key words; INTRODUCTION, MATERIAL AND METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION, ACKNOWLEDGMENTS, LITERATURE
CITED.
The Abstract should have a length proportional to the overall length of the
text, not to exceeding two pages. Manuscripts written in English, French and Portuguese
should include a RESUMEN in
Spanish. LITERATURE CITED should
be presented in alphabetical order. Figures such as maps, graphs, drawings and
photographs should be presented at the end of the text following consecutive
numbers and the figure captions listed in a separated sheet including the
definitions of keys, abbreviations and the scale. Tables also should be presented
separated at the ed of the text, without boxes, consecutive numbered after
citation and, with a brief, clear and concise header for each table. Please
avoid landscape presentation of Tables and Figures wherever possible.
SCIENTIFIC NOTES Text should be no longer than four double spaced pages. Three copies
should be sent. Text structure should be organized as follows: TITLE, followed by a concise ABSTRACT if text is in Spanish or RESUMEN if the text is written in other
languages and RESULTS.
Literature should be cited within the text (e.g. Klemperer 1980, Environ. Entomol.
5:143-151. or Gill 1991, In: Dung Beetles Ecology: 211-29). The author’s
name and address (es) should appear at the end of the note. Once the manuscript
are accepted for publication the author(s) will be asked to submit the
manuscript on diskette or CD formatted in WORDPERFECT or WORD or format *.RTF, without virus, enclosed with a whole printed copy and
the originals figures carefully and individually protected and labeled with the
title and the author’s name, and or its graphic version *.JPG . There are no
printing charges for authors, that will receive a total of 100 reprints free of
charge
