INSTRUÇÕES AOS AUTORES

A revista ANAIS DO MUSEU PAULISTA é publicação institucional criada em 1922 e reorientada em 1993, ano em que recebeu o subtítulo HISTÓRIA E CULTURA MATERIAL. O periódico é anual. A publicação de artigos dependerá da observância das Normas Editoriais e dos pareceres do Conselho Editorial, Comissão de Publicações e/ou assessores ad hoc. Todos os pareceres têm caráter sigiloso e imparcial. Todos os textos serão submetidos a dois pareceristas. Havendo pareceres contrários o editor enviará o trabalho a um terceiro parecerista. Os artigos poderão ser enviados em qualquer época do ano. Cabe ao editor responsável, juntamente com a Comissão de Publicações, a decisão referente à oportunidade da publicação das contribuições recebidas. Os conceitos emitidos nos artigos publicados são de inteira responsabilidade dos autores. Os artigos e toda a correspondência deverão ser enviados para o endereço ao final dessas instruções.

FINALIDADE

A revista ANAIS DO MUSEU PAULISTA tem por finalidade publicar artigos de revisão, artigos completos e estudos de casos em História e Cultura Material. O objetivo é constituir-se em veículo para diferentes áreas acadêmicas que promovem pesquisas em História na perspectiva da Cultura Material. A revista conta com seções que abrigam análises conceituais e estudos de casos (Seções Estudos de Cultura Material e Museus), exames de fontes ou apontamentos para a pesquisa (Seção Documentos), estudos na área de conservação e restauração (Seção Conservação e Restauração), resenhas e balanços bibliográficos (Seção Bibliografia). A revista pode ainda publicar Dossiês Temáticos ou seletivos elaborados por especialistas nacionais e/ou estrangeiros, desde que se enquadrem nas normas editoriais.

NORMAS EDITORIAIS

O artigo deverá:

1 - Ser inédito e destinar-se exclusivamente à revista ANAIS DO MUSEU PAULISTA.

2 - Limitar-se a um máximo de 50 (cinqüenta) laudas digitadas (sem as ilustrações, notas e bibliografias). Tal limite só será alterado em caso de julgamento diferente da Comissão de Publicações.

3 - Ser escrito em português, inglês, francês, espanhol ou italiano.

4 - Identificar no texto os locais das figuras ou outras formas de ilustrações.

5 - Constar abaixo do título o nome do autor, seguido da instituição à qual se vincula.

6 - Apresentar, exclusivamente, ao final do texto as referências bibliográficas e documentais citadas ao longo do texto.

7 - Apresentar, obrigatoriamente, resumos nos idiomas português e inglês, independentemente do idioma do texto original, e caso este não esteja em português ou inglês, acrescentar resumo na língua original do texto (francês, espanhol ou italiano), não devendo ultrapassar 250 (duzentas e cinqüenta) palavras, seguidas das palavras-chave, mínimo de 3 (três) e máximo de 6 (seis), que correspondam a palavras representativas do conteúdo do trabalho. APRESENTAÇÃO DOS ARTIGOS

1 - Digitação original em disquete 3 1/2” de alta densidade ou CD devidamente identificado com o título do artigo e nome do(s) autor(es) e três cópias impressas, inclusive suas tabelas e referências; em formato A4 (21,0 x 29,7 cm), 2.800 toques por lauda, entrelinha de1,5 cm, em uma só face de papel, fonte Times New Roman, corpo 12, e numeração consecutiva das páginas. Ilustrações e legendas devem ser relacionadas em folhas separadas. Os artigos deverão ser apresentados utilizando o editor de texto Microsoft Word.

2 - Página de rosto: todo artigo deverá ter uma página de rosto com o título do artigo, nome(s) completo(s) do(s) autor(es) e instituição de origem. O rodapé da página, ou caixa lateral aos nomes, deverá mencionar o endereço completo e e-mail do autor, a quem deverá ser encaminada a correspondência. Somente nesta página constará a identificação do(s) autor(es), para devido sigilo e imparcialidade dos pareceristas. Se o artigo for subvencionado, mencionar a instituição que o patrocinou.

3 - O editor reserva-se o direito de diagramar os artigos de acordo com o seu padrão gráfico.

4 - Imagens (reprodução de documentos tridimensionais, iconográficos, textuais, tabelas, gráficos, etc.) devem ser fornecidas em reproduções em papel A4 (21,0 x 29,7 cm), numeradas consecutivamente com algarismos arábicos e citadas como figura. Todas as figuras devem estar em folhas à parte, com título do artigo. As fotografias e cromos fornecidos para processo gráfico devem ser originais e serão devolvidos mediante solicitação do autor. As legendas também deverão ser apresentadas em folhas à parte com indicação das respectivas autorias, instituições detentoras dos originais e dos eventuais direitos de reprodução (copyright). A obtenção das devidas autorizações é encargo do autor, que deve enviá-las ao editor da revista Anais do Museu Paulista acompanhadas de uma carta assinada pelo autor na qual se declara responsável pela divulgação das imagens. As imagens, em preto-e-branco ou coloridas, devem ser apresentadas em cromo (slide), arquivos digitais com resolução 300dpis (extensão Tiff ou Jpeg) ou ampliações em papel fotográfico. O editor reserva-se o direito de imprimir ilustrações em cores ou em preto-e-branco, conforme conveniência da revista.

5 - Referências: devem ser apresentadas em ordem alfabética. As referências seguem a normalização da NBR 6023 (ABNT), que deverá ser consultada para outros tipos de documentos não exemplificados nas Instruções aos Autores. Indicar os autores pelo sobrenome, em maiúsculas, seguido do prenome, sendo separados por ponto-e-vírgula, seguido de espaço.

6 - Citações no texto: deverão ser feitas em ordem alfabética pelo sobrenome de cada autor ou pelo nome de cada entidade responsável, seguido(s) da data de publicação do documento e da(s) página(s) da citação; no caso de citação direta, separados por vírgula e entre parênteses. Se a citação estiver inserida no texto, utilizar letras maiúsculas e minúsculas; se estiver entre parênteses utilizar somente letras maiúsculas. Tratando-se de dois autores, ambos deverão ser citados. Quando estiverem incluídos na sentença separá-los pela partícula “e”; quando estiverem entre parênteses separá-los por ponto-e-vírgula. No caso de três autores todos deverão ser citados e, para quatro ou mais autores citar o primeiro autor seguido da expressão et al.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE AUTHORS

ANAIS DO MUSEU PAULISTA (Museu Paulista’s Annals) is an institutional journal created in 1922 and reoriented in 1993, year in which it was given the subtitle HISTÓRIA E CULTURA MATERIAL (History and Material Culture). As an interdisciplinary journal, its main purpose is to promote the discussion and diffusion of review texts and case studies in History and Material Culture across different academic areas involving research in the perspective of the Material Culture. The journal accepts book, film and exhibition reviews, as well as manuscripts, for the following sections: Material Culture Studies and Museums sections, which contain conceptual analyses and case studies, Documents section, dedicated to source or collection analyses, Conservation and Restoration section, dedicated to studies in the Conservation and Restoration area. The journal will also consider the publication of special issues dedicated to single themes or topics, elaborated by national and/or foreign specialists, as far as they are found in accordance with the

editorial standards. Anyone wishing to submit a manuscript or a book, film or exhibition review should send it to the address below. The acceptance of manuscripts for publication depends on whether the Publisher’s Standards are adhered to and also on the judgement of the Editorial Council, Publishing Commissions and/or consultants ad hoc. All judgements will be secret and impartial. All manuscripts will be scrutinised by two different individuals. If opposing evaluations are arrived at, the Editor can submit it to a third individual. Manuscripts are accepted at any time of the year. The decision to publish a received contribution or not is at the sole discretion of the Editor, along with the Publishing Commission. The published articles’ content remain the authors’ full and sole responsibility.

EDITORIAL STANDARDS

The manuscript must:

1 - Be original, and exclusive to the ANAIS DO MUSEU PAULISTA (Museu Paulista’s Annals).

2 - Contain up to 20.000 words (not including notes or bibliographies). Such limitation can only be altered by decision of the Publishing Commission.

3 - Be written in the Portuguese, English, French, Spanish or Italian languages.

4 - Contain the reference to location of any illustrative material (designated as “Figure”).

5 - Bring, under the title, the name of the author, followed by the institution he or she is affiliated to.

6 - Present notes, bibliography and cited documental references at the end of the text.

7 - Present abstracts of up to 250 (two hundred and fifty) words, followed by key words (3 to 6) both in English and in the language of the original manuscript. Subtitles must be avoided.

MANUSCRIPT PRESENTATION

1 - Original typing in high-density 3 1/2” diskette or CD, properly labelled with the title of the article and the name(s) of the author(s), in addition to three printed copies, including its tables and references; format A4 (21,0 x 29,7 cm), 1.5 cm-space between lines, on only one side of the sheet, font Times New Roman, body 12 and consecutive page numbers.

2 - Facing page: all manuscripts must have a facing page containing the title of the article, the author’s full name(s) and affiliate institution. The author(s)’ complete address and email for contact must be printed at the bottom of the page, or else within box at the side of the names. If the article is subsidised, the institution that has sponsored it must be mentioned as well. This page only must 364 Anais do Museu Paulista. v.12. jan.-dez. 2004. contain the identification of the author(s), and no other page, so that complete impartiality of the process is assured.

3 - The Editor holds the right to design articles on the page according to own graphic standards.

4 - Images: black and white or images in colour must be presented in transparencies (slides), 300dpi digital files (Tiff or Jpeg extensions) or photographic paper prints. All images must have supplied with a A4 (21,0 x 29,7 cm) sheet copy, numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers and cited as figures. All the figures must each come on a different sheet of paper containing the title of the article. The editor holds the right to print colour or black and white illustrations, according to the magazine’s convenience. The photographs and transparencies supplied for graphic processing must be of good quality and will be returned at request of the author(s). Captions must each also be presented on a separate sheet of paper and must contain indication of the author(s)’ name(s), the institutions that own the originals and detain the copyrights. It is the author(s)’s responsibility to obtain the proper authorisations, and they must send them to the editor of the magazine Anais do Museu Paulista (Museu Paulista’s Annals) along with a letter signed by the author(s), in which they declare themselves responsible for the publishing of the images.

5 - References: must be presented in alphabetic order. The references follow the NBR 6023 (ABNT) standard, which must be consulted for other types of documents not exemplified in the Instructions to the Authors. Indicate the authors by their surnames, in capital letters, followed by their first names, separated by semicolons, followed by one space.

6 - Citations within the text: these must appear in alphabetic order by the surname of each author or by the name of each responsible body, followed by the document’s publishing date and by the page(s) of the citation; in the case of a direct citation, it should be separated by a comma and in brackets. If the citation is within the text, use capitals and short letters; if it is in brackets, use only capital letters. If there are two authors, both must be cited. When they are included in the sentence, set them apart with the word “and”, and if they are in brackets, do so with a semicolon. If there are three authors, all of them must be cited and, for four or more authors, cite the first one followed by the expression et al.
