Normas de
colaboración
CIENCIA ergo sum es una revista académica multidisciplinaria
de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, cuyo interés prioritario es
que con base en la rigurosidad académica, los artículos puedan incidir en la toma
de decisiones al extender sus conclusiones, de modo que no se queden
en reportes de resultados, sino que apunten al futuro o a alternativas o
adviertan los riesgos de preservar situaciones. De este modo, interesa que
las colaboraciones muestren la relevancia práctica, su utilidad y aplicabilidad
para dar sustentabilidad social y responder a la problemática actual y futura.
Por lo que toca a los trabajos
teóricos o de orden filosófico, el enfoque prospectivo ubicará el método o
discutirá el estado del arte del tema o de la frontera del conocimiento en
cuanto a la discusión de la actualidad y la vigencia del paradigma. Para
someter los trabajos a consideración del comité editorial, los colaboradores
deberán apegarse a las siguientes normas editoriales:
1. Los
originales serán sometidos a un proceso
editorial que se desarrollará en varias fases. Primera, toda colaboración será
objeto de una evaluación preliminar por parte del Comité Editorial y/o
Dirección Editorial, quienes determinarán la
pertinencia de turnarlo a dictamen. Segunda, una vez que se estableció
que cumple con todos los requisitos formales
indicados en estas instrucciones, será enviada a dos árbitros
externos, quienes determinarán en forma anónima: a) publicar sin
cambios;
b)
publicar cuando se hayan cumplido correcciones menores; c) publicar una vez que
se haya realizado una revisión a fondo y d) rechazar. En caso de discrepancia entre ambos resultados, el
trabajo se turnará a un tercer árbitro, cuya decisión determinará la
publicación.
Los resultados de la dictaminación
son inapelables en todos los casos.
2. Cada colaboración se
acompañará de una declaración escrita en la que se especifique que no ha
sido publicada y que no se someterá simultáneamente a otras publicaciones antes
de conocer la decisión del comité editorial.
3. Se aceptarán dos
tipos de trabajos:
a) Artículos científicos de
cualquier área del conocimiento (podrán estar escritos en inglés). Deberán
ser de orden y de interés estrictamente
académico, lo cual implica que podrán usarse términos, fórmulas y anotaciones
técnicas, haciendo las aclaraciones adecuadas. En su caso, indicar si el
artículo forma parte de un proyecto de investigación más amplio. En ningún caso
excederán 25 cuartillas a doble espacio (40 000 caracteres), incluyendo cuadros
y gráficos.
b) Trabajos de divulgación. Extensión
máxima 15 cuartillas (24 000 caracteres).
Se publicarán en las siguientes
secciones fijas:
• Espacio del divulgador, son
trabajos que presentan de manera accesible algún tema científico de interés
general.
• Ensayo científico, son
disertaciones generales sobre algún aspecto también general de la ciencia.
4. El artículo se
remitirá electrónicamente en procesador Word a: ciencia.ergosum@yahoo.com.mx
5. Cada artículo se
acompañará de: a) datos generales del autor (nombre completo, resumen
curricular no mayor a 5 líneas, dirección postal y electrónica, teléfono
y lugar de adscripción); b) síntesis del artículo en español e inglés no
mayor de 10 líneas, traducción del título y palabras clave.
6. Los autores podrán
acompañar sus textos con gráficas, fotografías, mapas, esquemas o cualesquiera
otras imágenes, que deberán incorporarse como anexos, evitando redundancias. En
caso indispensable se publicarán a color. Deberán siempre entregarse en
impresión de buena calidad y en formato tif, jpg o .gif con alta resolución.
Los cuadros y tablas en procesador Excel.
7. El título del trabajo
indicará claramente el contenido y deberá ser breve.
8. Deberán hacerse
siempre las referencias bibliográficas que correspondan al texto.
De no ser así e incurrirse en plagio
intelectual o de cualquier índole, CIENCIA ergo sum
no asumirá ninguna responsabilidad y, por lo tanto, el autor tendrá que
hacer frente a las leyes correspondientes.
9. Los trabajos deberán
ser escritos cuidando las normas de ortografía y redacción, cumpliendo con las
siguientes características generales:
a) No usar guiones al final del
renglón.
b) Las notas a pie de página deberán
utilizarse sólo si es absolutamente necesario y con interlineado sencillo.
c) Para las referencias dentro del
texto se usará la notación Harvard.
d) Las referencias bibliográficas se
ordenarán alfabéticamente al final del texto, con todos los elementos de una
ficha, para lo cual se sugiere consultar la página electrónica.
10. En los trabajos
aceptados para publicarse, la dirección editorial se reserva el derecho de:
a) Editarlos, imprimirlos,
reimprimirlos y difundirlos en versión impresa, electrónica y en medios
magnéticos.
b) Hacer los cambios editoriales que
considere convenientes.
11. Los artículos podrán

Instructions for contributors
CIENCIA ergo sum is a Scientific
and Prospective Multidisciplinary
Scientific Journal of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (Autonomous University of the State of Mexico’s).
The journal has adopted a prospective profile in order
to contribute to decision making and looking forward into future
analysis and introspection.
In this line of thinking, all the works at least should have several
extensions, trying to point out to the future their main results. Discussions,
coming out from the analysis, about practical-theoretical use, or
contribution to social or human kind Sustainability are highly encouraged.
1. All the works submitted
will follow an editorial process. Firstly, each article will be pre evaluated
by the Editor or the Editorial Board.
According to this previous
outcome it will continue with the process or will be rejected. If positive,
then it will be turned to a peer review process of which there are the possible
results: a) to be published without changes; b) published after applying
corrections; c) to be published after a deep correction of the whole piece; d)
rejected. In the case of having a positive and a negative result, the Editor
will turn the work to a final decision, wich cannot
be appealed.
2. It receives
scientific articles also written in English from all fields.
3. We publish
three issues a year (March, July and November).
4. Authors will comply with the following editorial rules:
• Articles cannot be submitted simultaneously to other
publications.
• Previously published articles will not be accepted.
• Articles of a journalistic nature or general
commentaries are not suitable, except those which increase the readers’ scientific
knowledge.
5. Two types of work will be accepted:
• Scientific Contributions. Must be strictly academic, and not exceed 25 pages (40 000 characters)
including tables and figures.
• General Scientific Work. Maximum of 12 pages (19 200 characters). These articles will be published in the regular sections under the
following categories:
Essay: An academic work presenting
reflections on any subject of any field of knowledge; and does not necessarily
comply with the requirements for scientific articles.
Espacio del
divulgador: Popularization of Science is related to disclosing any scientific topic
in an interesting manner and does not necessarily comply with the requirements
for scientific articles.
In any case, works with a future or prospective approach will be priorized.
Research Progress Reports will not be accepted although they can be
incorporated in the form of scientific articles and/or scientific works in
which a specific investigation problem is defined, discussed and settled.
6. Each article must be sent in an electronic form (preferably Word),
accompanied with a presentation containing general data allowing CIENCIA
ergo sum easy access to the author (address, telephone number, fax number, postal
and e-mail address), with an abstract of the article (less than 10 lines) in
English and key words.
7. Authors may include in their texts illustrations (pictures, prints,
maps, diagrams and figures) to be incorporated. Repetitions or redundancies must
be avoided. Figures must be submitted in diskettes labeled with the program and
file names. In all cases, they must be of good quality. Just if necessary color
prints are allowed.
8. Titles and subtitles must be distinguished by the size of the characters
and their position in the text.
9. The introduction
must clearly reflect the article’s background and introduce the reader to the
subject.
10. References must always be given. Otherwise, CIENCIA ergo sum will
not assume responsibilityfor plagiarism, whether
intellectual or not, and the author will be held liable.
11. Works must be written in upper and lower case letters
and comply with normal editing standards:
References may appear as footnotes or at the end of the text in the form
of an annex.
For references appearing in the text itself, the Harvard
notation system will be used, i.e. surname, year of publication and page number
in parentheses (Martinez, 1994: 25).
References will appear alphabetically at the end of
the text and will contain the following data:
Author’s surname and first name
Year of publication (in parentheses)
Title of the article (in quotation marks)
Name of the journal or book (in italics)
Editor
Date, number and volume
City and country where published
The first time an abbreviation is used in the text, tables
or figures, they should be followed with their full meaning.
12. The publication will not be responsible for the contents
of the articles.
13. The decision of the Editorial Board (Peer Review)
cannot be appealed.
14. For articles accepted, the Editor reserves the right
to:
a) Edit, print and reprint the articles in paper, electronic
and magnetic version.
b) Make editorial and editing corrections if
necessary.
